Maryland is for Crabs
This weekend Wesley and I tried out a new place.* We’d passed this tavern many times on the way to and from South Carolina. The fare was more like Irish pub food than I expected. The “crab stuffed flounder” caught my eye. Georgia’s on the coast.** The fish is probably fairly fresh. I’m game, I thought. I expected something along the lines of the dish to the right. I got something a little different.
When the waitress brought my food, there was a crab cake sandwiched by two flounder fillets sitting on my plate. It was the height and size of Wesley’s burger. See my drawing for an accurate depiction. Basically, it was a crab cake burger, but we went all low-carb and traded in the bun for fried fish.
*New to us, not to the area.
**Maryland has nothing to do with this story at all except a minor relation because crabbing does a good business there.
